Food security and sustainable agriculture, central topics at the T20 Summit

The Think 20 (T20) community came together in Buenos Aires for the T20 Summit. During the 17 and 18 September, a number of relevant topics for the think tank network were discussed, including food security and sustainable agriculture.

The plenary session referred to the collective actions that the G20 should implement to end global malnutrition, the role of trade to end hunger, the role of regulatory policies to develop food systems that respond to social needs and policies to promote investment from the private sector to contribute to food security. The panelists were Valeria Piñeiro (International Food Policy Research Institute), Manuel Otero (Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture), Máximo Torero (World Bank) and Belay Begashaw (Sustainable Development Goals Center for Africa). Martín Piñeiro (CARI) was the moderator.
