The Argentine minister of Treasury, Nicolás Dujovne, will attend the T20 Summit on Tuesday September 18 which will take place in the CCK in Buenos Aires. Dujovne will give the opening remarks to the event’s second day which will involve more than a thousand participants from 68 countries.
Dujovne also attended the Inception Workshop, the engagement group’s launch event, in February. It was there that he underlined the role of the T20 and of academia: “Civil society, including the T20, the private sector and all engagement groups have a crucial role to play to achieve a presidency of which we will all feel proud,” he said and added “think tanks and academia make a significant contribution to the G20 dialogue via the T20, this year will be no exception”.
The T20 Summit’s main objective is to hand the Argentine G20 presidency the Communiqué, a document with its vision on global governance and public policy recommendations. On Monday September 17, in the morning, president Mauricio Macri will receive the document from the presidents of CARI and CIPPEC, Adalberto Rodríguez Giavarini and Jorge Mandelbaum.
The event will also be an opportunity to deepen the conversations on relevant T20 topics and look to the future of the open and independent network of think tanks. There will be over 200 speakers at the event, who will take part in plenary, parallel and other session which will take place in the framework of the T20.
In addition to president Mauricio Macri and Minister Dujovne, other national officials will take part. This includes Laura Jaitman, the Argentine representative of the Finance Track, who will take part in a conversation about the G20 and the New World Order, and the secretary of culture Pablo Avelluto who will introduce Nicholas Burbules, an expert in philosophy of education, to the conference. Jorge Faurie, the Foreign Affairs minister, will give welcome remarks at the Welcome Cocktail which will take place on Sunday evening at Buenos Aires City Hall.
