The chief of the cabinet of ministers of Argentina will participate in a conversation with think tank leaders from around the world on Tuesday 18. Watch the live stream on the T20 Argentina’s website.
The chief of cabinet of ministers, Marcos Peña, will attend the T20 Summit on Tuesday 18 September which will take place in the CCK in Buenos Aires. Peña will close the T20 Argentina event, which brought together over a thousand participants from 68 countries. Peña will have a conversation with think tanks leaders from around the world.
The chief of cabinet of ministers was present at the Inception Workshop, the engagement group’s launch event, in February, when he said: “We are asking the T20 for help to resolve global problems”. In over an hour, he responded to questions from international experts such as Jeffrey Sachs (University of Columbia), Margo Thomas (Fellow at Chatham House), Claudia Costin (Fundación Gertulio Vargas) and Colin Bradford (Brookings Institute). They asked him questions on a number of topics including gender equality, trade, multilateralism, education, governability, and more.
On Monday morning, president Mauricio Macri received the T20 Argentina’s recommendations and gave a speech in which he said: ““Today I came to receive the packet of policies that was created after many months of work. I know you have addressed nearly all of the topics on this year’s G20 agenda. I am sure that this document will be useful for the constructive work for this year.”
Additionally, other national officials will participate in the T20 Summit, such as the minister of the Treasury, Nicolás Dujovne, Laura Jaitman, representative of the G20 Finance Track, who will take part in a session on the G20 and the New World Order, and the secretary of culture Pablo Avelluto who will introduce Nicholas Burbules in his keynote speech. The minister of foreign affairs, Jorge Faurie, gave the welcome remarks at the Welcome Cocktail on Sunday evening at the Buenos Aires City Hall.
