The Think 20 (T20) community came together in Buenos Aires on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 of September for the T20 Summit.
During the two days, a number of conversations took place. This included a debate between three experts on the current state and future of the multilateral trade system. José Antonio Ocampo, from the Colombian Central Bank, Vera Songwe, from the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and Thomas Straubhaar, from Hamburg University, took part in the discussion which was moderated by Felix Peña, from CARI.
The conversation focused on two key questions: Is it possible to mitigate the impact in developing economies of the deterioration of the multilateral trade system? And, how can we construct a narrative of working together between developing countries at a regional level, especially through competitive productive sectoral networks?
