The T20 community came together on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 of September to take part in the T20 Summit. In addition to formally presenting to the G20 its public policy proposals on global governance, the event was also an opportunity to deepen the discussions on T20 related topics in the plenary sessions and keynote speeches.
One of the keynote speakers was Nicholas Burbules, professor at the University of Illinnois, who talked about the current challenges facing teaching, formal education and the need for continuing education into the working world. “To be is to learn,” said the expert, who added: “It is no longer possible to simply obtain a degree and work for 30 or 40 years, the technology of knowledge changes. Throughout your whole working life you have to keep learning, to be an apprentice you have to learn to get involved with technology.”
