The former prime minister of Canada met with representatives from the T20 Argentina to discuss topics related to the G20, G7 and the T20.
Paul Martin, the former prime minister of Canada, met with representatives from the Think 20 (T20) Argentina, CARI and CIPPEC to talk about the G20, G7 and T20 opportunities and obstacles. Robert Fry, the current Ambassador of Canada to Argentina and Paraguay, also attended the event.
During the session, participants underlined the importance of Argentina to include Latin American countries in the G20 in order to give them a greater role on the global stage. They also talked about the importance of think tanks in addressing issues that are not dealt with by governments and their capacity to think outside the box.
José María Lladós, the executive director of CARI, Jorge Mandelbaum, the president of CIPPEC and three members of the T20 Argentina Steering Committee, Ricardo Carciofi, Gerardo della Paolera and Héctor Masoero, were also present.
Representing the T20 were: Martín Rapettí, Head of the T20 Policy and Research Team, Leandro Serino, T20 Policy and Research Team Coordinator, Gabriel Lanfranchi, co-chair of the Climate action and infrastructure for development Task Force, Gala Díaz Langou, co-chair of the Gender economic equity Task Force, and Martín Piñeiro, co-chair of the Food security and sustainable agriculture Task Force.
At the meeting there were representatives from the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) including Thomas A. Bernes, Heather McNorgan, Héctor Torres and Catherine Tsalikis.
