The T20 Troika met at the Global Solutions Summit

Think tank representatives from Germany, Argentina and Japan met in Berlin to assure the continuation of the Think 20’s work and results.

The T20 Troika came together during the Global Solutions Summit in Berlin. Similar to the G20, the Think 20 has a permanent structure made up of institutions from three countries: the one that hosted it the year before, the current president, and the one who will take over the next year. The trio guarantee the monitoring and continuation of the engagement group’s agenda in the long-term.

During the meeting on May 28, there were participants from the German representatives of the Troika, the German Development Institute (DIE) and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, the current presidents of the T20 Argentina, the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI) and CIPPEC, and the think tanks that will manage the engagement group from December 2018, the Asian Development Bank (ADBI), the Institute for International Monetary Affairs and the Japan Institute of International Affairs.

During the meeting, the participants talked about the T20 process, the Task Forces and their topics, and the policy briefs that they are developing. They also spoke about the engagement group’s events and how the transition and transfer between Argentina and Japan will be.
