Evidence-based policymaking and gender mainstreaming: What Works?

T20 Argentina Associated Event

Given the central role that gender equality issues and considerations are having in this year’s G20 engagement process, and the clear commitment made by the Argentine Presidency to mainstreaming gender equality across the G20 agenda and processes, the Expert Roundtable at ODI: “Evidence-based policymaking and gender mainstreaming: What Works?”  will provide a space for experts and policy-makers to share experiences, research agendas and best practices in evidence-based policymaking for gender equality, as well as gender mainstreaming within governments.

The event will take place the day after Chatham’s House International Policy Forum on Gender Inclusive Growth (July 10-11, London), gathering global experts and policymakers and providing a unique opportunity to take stock of what has been achieved globally to date and the main challenges to gender equality policy making and gender mainstreaming going forward. The roundtable, moderated by an ODI research fellow, will provide a space to share best practices in evidence-based policymaking, gender equality policy implementation and gender mainstreaming in governments around the world. This expert roundtable event will the first in a series of annual expert roundtable held at the fringes of the Chatham’s House International Policy Forum by ODI, in collaboration with GEE Task Force members.
