Jeffrey Sachs and Antonio Vegara to deliver keynote speeches during Inception Workshop

They will deliver a lecture at T20 Argentina's first major event which will take place during 1-2 February.

During 1-2 February the Think 20 (T20) community will come together in Buenos Aires to participate in the Inception Workshop: “Vision and strategies for 2018”; the first organized meeting for the group. The workshops will mark the launch of the Task Force´s work, and members will be able to experience their first face-to-face sessions.

One of the most prominent events of the workshop will be keynote sessions delivered by two international experts. The first session will be given by Jeffrey Sachs, an economist from the US who is considered to be an expert in the economic challenges of globalization. Sachs is a professor and director of the Center for Sustainable Development of the University of Columbia and a special advisor to the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on the Sustainable Development Goals. His speech will take place on Thursday 1 February at 18:30 in the Palacio San Martín.

The second keynote will be delivered by Antonio Vegara, an architect, economist and sociologist who specializes in the design and innovation of cities. He is the founder and honorary president of the Metrópoli Foundation and a member of the Eisenhower Foundation. His keynote will take place on Friday 2nd February at 12:15 in the Palacio San Martín.

Additionally, there will also be plenary sessions during the Inception Workshop which will cover four topics of interest relating to global governance which are: the future of work and education in the digital era, social cohesion, global governance and the future of politics, climate change and infrastructure for development and food security and sustainable agriculture. There will also be a round table called “What can the G20 achieve during 2018? Challenges and expectations”. The opening speech will be given by Pedro Villagra Delgado, the Argentine Sherpa for the international forum, Nicolás Dujovne, the Argentine Minister of Treasury, and Adalberto Rodríguez Giavarini y Jorge Mandelbaum, the presidents of CARI and CIPPEC.
