The “Gender Economic Equity” Task Force presented its recommendations in Ottawa

It was during the panel on “Gender Mainstreaming: Linking the G20 and G7 agenda for concrete action” in IDRC.

The “Gender Economic Equity” Task Force led the panel on “Gender Mainstreaming: Linking the G20 and G7 agenda for concrete action” in the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) on Tuesday 12 June in Ottawa.

The objective of the meeting, which is part of the Canadian think tank’s series of talks on gender, was to discuss how to maintain the perspective of gender at the forefront of global discussions.

Three members of the “Gender Economic Equity” Task force spoke at the event. Gala Díaz Langou, co-chair of the Task Force and director of social protection at CIPPEC, talked about the context of the T20 and presented the Task Force and its recommendations.

Cynthia Drakeman, CEO of DoubleXEconomy, explained the policy brief on labor inclusion and Kate Grantham, research associate at the IDRC, talked about the one on rural women.

After the presentations, participants debated in groups on how to link the momentum of the G7 to gender mainstreaming to the discussions of the G20 and how to get the international forum to adopt the T20 Argentina’s recommendations.
