The T20 discussed the challenges facing the digital economy in Salta

It was during a Think 20 associated event organized by the Federal Council of International Studies for Young People on August 17.

The “Challenges for the convergence of the digital economy” forum, a T20 associated event organized by the Federal Council of International Studies for Young People (COFEI) of Salta, brought together 200 students, experts and provincial officials in the Professional Council of Economic Sciences of Salta, Argentina, on August 17.

The meeting’s objective was to work on a participative document on the topic ahead of the next G20 meetings and add value to the international forum’s process with public policy proposals based on evidence on topics relevant to the global agenda.

The opening session was attended by the minister of Economy and Finance of Salta, Emiliano Estrada, the chief of staff of the province, Fernando Yarade, and the president of COFEI, Norberto Consani.

During the event, experts spoke in four conferences. This included Jorge Argüello, president of Embajada Abierta and member of the T20 Steering Committee, and Carola Ramón-Berjano, co-director of Policy and Investigation of the T20, who addressed topics on economics and inclusion.

Alejandra Boni Aristizabal, Doctor of Law from the University of Valencia, addressed the topic of social innovation and human development. Pablo Cardozo Herrera, expert in information security and technological innovation, analyzed the new dangers on the internet. Miguel Ángel Isa, deputy governor of Salta, gave the closing speech during the first stage of the forum.

During the afternoon, experts debated the different aspects of the main topic in four panels: “Challenges to the Digital Economy.  Vision from the periphery”; “Technology, Infrastructure and security for the Digital Economy”; “Finances and networks for the Digital Economy” and “Inclusion and public policies for governance in the Digital Economy”.
